To take full advantage of the insights and analytics Flywheel offers, and to gain a deep understanding of how people discover and follow your podcast, you need to integrate Flywheel's tools into your promotion workflow.

Fortunately, many tools available to you through Flywheel are drop-in replacements for tools you are probably already using. Here are two quick steps you can take to start gathering data about the discoverability of your podcast:

Share your Podcard

You are probably already posting about your podcast consistently and if you are not, you definitely should be. You have a sense that these posts are effective in getting the word out about your podcast, but how effective? Without hard numbers, it's impossible to say especially once you get interested not just in how many people see your post, but how many of them click through, press play on your new episode, and how many ultimately decide to follow your show.

Next time your post about a new episode or revisit an old one, use a Podcard. Sharing your Podcard will not only give your audience a great landing spot from their social platform but will tell you exactly how they are interacting with your podcast. Simply copy the link from the Podcard section of Flywheel and share it!

Embed your Web Player

Next time you create a webpage or post for your new episode, embed the Flywheel web player. You can choose between embedding a single episode (best for episode-specific pages) or your full podcast (best for podcast landing pages) and you can also choose between a full-sized player or a slimmer, smaller version if you want to optimize for mobile. You can easily copy the embed code from the Player section of Flywheel and paste it into any CMS. Here's an example:

These two simple steps will go a long way in helping you understand your listener journey and give you rich information about how people discover and engage with your show. As always, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me at timothy@flyhweel.fm and happy podcasting!
